Inventory/Material Handler responsibilities include:

  • ● Open pallets or boxes carefully and handle products carefully.
  • ● When is required locate and move stock of products to crates for storage
  • ● Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs

Job brief

Material Handlers work within a company’s warehouse, moving, handling and storing different materials. They track the stock within the warehouse, record orders and store the company’s merchandise. Material Handlers are regularly on their feet loading and unloading inventory, supplies and other packages from various locations, like storage and production areas, delivery trucks and loading docks. 

Before loading up trucks for delivery, the Material Handlers check their files and records to make sure all of the incoming deliveries follow what’s written in their purchase orders. They’re also in charge of storing cargo in various assigned locations, using materials like pallets and cargo boards. After moving different units, they log the total number they’ve moved for the day in their production sheet.

You must be a responsible individual with experience in organize merchandise

The goal will be to ensure that products will always be at the right place to achieve maximum efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • ● Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording location of inventory.
  • ● Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
  • ● Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
  • ● Documents materials and supplies disposition by recording units delivered and location of units.
  • ● Receives credit-return material and supplies from production by verifying materials and supplies code and lot number and quantity; placing materials in stock.
  • ● Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
  • ● Documents product shipment by recording units shipped.
  • ● Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections; making operator repairs.
  • ● Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Skills/Qualifications: Organization, Scheduling, Analyzing Information , Dealing with Complexity, Deadline-Oriented, Time Management, Process Improvement, Safety Management, Inventory Control, Lifting, Data Entry Skills

Requirements

  • ● Certification in forklift operation
  • ● Knowledge of operating other warehouse machinery
  • ● Data entry, math and computer skills
  • ● Physically fit with the ability to lift objects weighing between 50-100 pounds
