Data Entry Clerk responsibilities include:

  • Providing first level contact and convey resolutions to customer issues
  • Properly escalating unresolved queries to the next level of support
  • Tracking, routing and redirecting problems to correct resources

Job brief

Import the list of products sent by the inventory department into the sales system. You must ensure that all required fields and product information are complete before entering the sales inventory without mistakes.

Keeps track of the goods, supplies and manages orders to facilitate sales or production. Their duties include signing off on shipments, counting the number of available products and request more information about products if the information is missing.

Responsibilities

  • ● Transfer data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders or optical scanners
  • ● Type in data provided directly from customers
  • ● Create spreadsheets with large numbers of figures without mistakes
  • ● Ensure that all required fields and product information are complete before entering the sales inventory without mistakes.
  • ● Verify data by comparing it to source documents
  • ● Update existing data
  • ● Request more information about products if the information is missing
  • ● Retrieve data from the database or electronic files as requested
  • ● Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation
  • ● Sort and organize paperwork after entering data to ensure it is not lost

Requirements

  • ● Proven experience as data entry clerk
  • ● Fast typing skills; Knowledge of touch typing system is strongly preferred
  • ● Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel etc.)
  • ● Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices
  • ● Basic understanding of databases
  • ● Good command of English and spanish both oral and written and customer service skills
  • ● Great attention to detail
  • ● High school degree or equivalent
  • ● Excellent copywriting skills
  • ● Excellent interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills.
  • ● Analytical and multitasking skills
  • ● Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • ● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • ● Proficiency in English and Spanish
